Terms of use

Effective October 28, 2026

By using Finance (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. What the app is

Finance is a free, open-source tool for recording and reviewing your own personal finances. It is provided by Mohammad Rafiqul Islam as a personal project and is licensed under the MIT License.

2. Not financial advice

Figures shown by the app — including balances, budgets, interest estimates, loan allocations, net worth and stock prices — are calculated from what you enter and from third-party price data. They may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. They are for your information only and are not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Always rely on your bank, card issuer, lender or broker for official figures.

3. Your data and your responsibility

Your data is stored on your devices and, if you sign in, in your own Google Drive (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for your devices, your Google account and for keeping backups. Because the developer never has access to your data, it cannot be recovered by the developer if lost.

4. Third-party services

Google sign-in and Google Drive are provided by Google and subject to Google’s terms. Live stock prices, if you enable them, come from Finnhub and are subject to Finnhub’s terms. GitHub Pages hosts the app’s files.

5. No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss of data, money or profits, or any other damages arising from use of the app.

6. Changes

The app and these terms may change at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
